This tour involved three such places: the Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira, and the Sintra Palace. It's hard to say which blend of architectural styles intrigued me most, as all are fascinating in their own right. The tour had a good mix of guided parts and time for wandering on your own, which I appreciated. Oh, and we got to see the westernmost point of Europe, which was also very cool.
I enjoyed the tour, as it gave me the opportunity to visit two World Heritage Sites in one day. Pena Palace is such a fun-looking place, and Quinta da Regaleira was like something from a mystery novel. Someone definitely needs to use it as a set for a show or a movie. The towns of Cascais and Sintra were interesting to discover on my own, as they had tons of artisan shops and cafes. I love exploring Portugal, and I seriously consider moving there in the future.
