Skip the line ticket for Pena Palace was really useful!
Being able to skip the line with Palacio da Pena tickets was very useful, especially because it was hot. We were inside faster, away from the sun, and could start exploring sooner. Pena Palace was really beautiful! I'm glad I visited. The views of the area from the terraces were amazing, so I got great photos, and the architecture is really unique. I never saw anything similar. I definitely recommend visiting!
The guided tour of Pena Palace is worth the money!
I'm happy I booked a guided tour because I learned a lot I would have missed otherwise. My favorite was learning about Ferdinand II, who built the castle, and how he was inspired by romantic and medieval ideas. Our guide was also really friendly and answered everyone's questions, so this was money well spent!
Best way to see more of Portugal
Portugal is beautiful, and this day trip was a great opportunity to explore it! The National Palace of Pena and Cascais were my favorite parts. Pena Palace for the architecture and the history, and Cascais because it is on the coast and is super beautiful. Our guide told us a lot of interesting stories, and everything was on time, so I'm happy!

Discover the Pena Palace: history, park & stunning views
Join an expert guide and learn the secrets and the history of the Pena Palace! They will tell you about King Ferdinand II, who bought the land with a monastery damaged in an earthquake, intending to turn it into a royal summer residence. Instead, he chose to make it a palace. He was inspired by the romantic ideas of the time and the ruins of a monastery in the hills. Pena Palace also incorporates Manueline and Moorish influences and medieval ideas–parapet paths, a drawbridge, and an access tunnel. Sintra hill, where the palace is located, was a center for the spread of Romantic architecture in Europe in the 19th century. The palace was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1995.
